Sustainability

Corporate Sustainability is not only a business strategy for us, but also a way of life. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Antalya, we carry the responsibility of helping to build a sustainable future. We respect our environment, contribute to society, and are committed to creating a better world for future generations through green innovation. We are proud to welcome our valued guests while fulfilling this commitment.

    • OUR HOTEL’S SUSTAINABILITY VISION
      • We Take Responsibility for Nature, Society, and the Future.

At Regnum Hotels, we have built our sustainable tourism strategies on creating a positive and lasting impact in every area where we operate. We are committed to significantly increasing our social impact and reducing our environmental impact by 2030, and we are taking concrete steps to achieve this.

This commitment includes progressing with measurable targets across areas such as reducing environmental impact, contributing to the local community, employee rights, and ethical business practices; considering stakeholder feedback; and continuously improving our performance.

Our sustainability vision not only aims to protect our environment and community, but also to share sustainability values and responsibilities while delivering unforgettable guest experiences. In this context, we manage sustainability as a shared value by establishing transparent communication and feedback channels for our guests, employees, suppliers, and local stakeholders.

We manage our sustainability performance through a target–indicator–action approach and monitor our annual targets through internal audits and management review processes.

        WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY?

Sustainability means meeting today’s needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. At Regnum Hotels, we embrace this understanding by protecting nature and the environment, supporting the local community, and offering our guests an ethical and responsible hospitality experience

    • OUR SUSTAINABILITY STORY
      • Respect for and Protection of Our Environment

We are located in an area surrounded by natural beauty. For this reason, respecting nature is one of our highest priorities. We focus on environmental protection by optimizing our water and energy consumption, maximizing our waste management practices, and selecting environmentally friendly practices and materials. We also protect natural habitats within our property and support the local ecosystem.

        Social Responsibility

We are mindful of our responsibility to society. Therefore, we contribute through social responsibility projects and local partnerships. By supporting initiatives in education, health, and the environment, we help create a better community. We also strive to support the local economy and create employment opportunities.

We monitor our local sourcing, local employment, and social investment targets through measurable indicators and share annual targets and results transparently in our Sustainability Report.

        Green Innovation and Technology

To support our sustainability vision, we invest in green innovation and environmentally friendly technologies. We continuously work on reducing our carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency, and developing waste reduction strategies. We also aim to spread this awareness by training our employees and business partners on sustainability.

We are taking major steps toward energy efficiency at our hotel. Through a trigeneration system, we simultaneously generate electricity, heating, and cooling. With a total thermal capacity of 11.136 MWt for the Regnum Hotels trigeneration–cogeneration system, our system efficiency has reached 60%.

We further strengthen our energy transition journey with solar investments: our total installed solar power plant (SPP / GES) capacity has reached 20.13 MWm, and we meet approximately 80% of our energy demand from renewable sources.

We do not only implement sustainability practices; we also measure, monitor, and continuously improve them using digital systems. By regularly tracking environmental performance indicators such as energy, water, waste, and carbon, we manage our operations in a data-driven manner and accelerate actions that improve resource efficiency.

Our approach is not limited to environmental data. Across the entire operation, we are digitalizing documentation, records, forms, approval workflows, and on-site inspections end-to-end. To collect fast and standardized data from the field, we use mobile-friendly online forms and approval workflows, ensuring seamless execution through task assignment, automated notifications, and integrations. With this digital infrastructure, we make nonconformity, risk, and corrective action management traceable through a single system and strengthen our culture of continuous improvement based on evidence.

        Green Construction

At Regnum Hotels, “nature-friendly” is not just a slogan—it is a defined goal. Our innovative nature-friendly programs and initiatives are designed to protect our environment and minimize our impact on the irreplaceable natural resources of Belek–Antalya, Türkiye. As Europe’s first LEED Gold Certified golf hotel, our daily operating culture is shaped by responsible and sustainable philosophies. In addition, Regnum Hotels was designed with a forward-looking approach to nature-friendly buildings and TURCEKO, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council.

In line with the LEED approach, we prioritize practices that reduce environmental impact in areas such as energy and water efficiency, material selection, indoor air quality, and waste management.

        Sustainable Environment

In addition to LEED certified programs, Regnum Carya is actively implementing numerous high-priority sustainability projects. These include:

        • Waste management
        • Energy management
        • Water management
        • Air quality preservation management
        • Noise control management
        • Control and management of vegetable oil waste
        • Chemical management
        • Garden management
        • Natural wildlife balance

We regularly monitor, measure, and update our practices under these headings in line with relevant legal obligations, international standards, and internal audit mechanisms—following a continuous improvement approach.

        Biodiversity Conservation

Biodiversity conservation focuses on protecting wildlife and local ecosystems in a sustainable way. In Antalya–Belek, we operate within an ecosystem adjacent to habitats such as pine forests, bird migration routes, endemic plant species, and sea turtles (Caretta caretta). For this reason, the protection of wildlife and the preservation of ecosystem balance are among our priorities.

To support biodiversity at our hotel, we implement the following strategies:

        • Protected Areas and Habitat Management: Natural flora and fauna are protected within hotel boundaries; “habitat-friendly” landscaping practices are preferred in area management.
        • Plant Protection and Reduction of Invasive Species Risk: Local/native plant species are preferred in landscaping; the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers is minimized in green area management.
        • Habitat Restoration and Protection of Natural Resources: We support ecosystem resilience through erosion control and habitat improvement practices; and contribute to aquatic life protection with projects such as the reuse of treated water
        • Training and Awareness: We carry out environmental/biodiversity awareness activities for employees and guests, promoting mindful interaction with nature.

Programs and examples of best practices:

Caretta caretta conservation practices: Nesting areas are protected; measures are implemented to prevent light pollution along the coastline.

Species information and digital guidance: Along the golf course walking route, TR/EN information boards and QR-code digital guides introduce bird, reptile, mammal, and endemic plant species to create lasting awareness.

Our biodiversity conservation efforts offer our guests unique nature-based experiences while contributing to the continuity of the local ecosystem. In this process, we also take into account Türkiye’s legal framework and public monitoring/protection practices for wildlife and habitats.

To safeguard wildlife welfare, we adopt the principles of non-intervention, not feeding, and not disturbing wildlife.

We manage our light pollution and noise control practices—especially during sensitive periods (e.g., breeding/migration)—to support species’ life cycles.

        Our Commitment to Stakeholders

We view sustainability as a shared responsibility across all stakeholders. We commit to offering our guests a safe, ethical, and environmentally conscious accommodation experience; providing our employees with an equitable, inclusive, and development-focused working environment; building sustainable collaborations with our suppliers based on environmental and social criteria; and engaging with the local community through respect, cooperation, and mutual benefit.

We support this commitment through transparent communication and continuous improvement. Through in-room information and digital channels, we provide guidance on water/energy saving, towel/linen change preferences, and waste separation. We regularly evaluate feedback from guests, employees, suppliers, and local stakeholders to improve our sustainability practices. We use open communication channels and tracking mechanisms to ensure that feedback, suggestions, and complaints are handled in a traceable manner and responded to in a timely way.

        • Environmental Impact Assessment Project (Carbon and Water Footprint Measurement)

In the fight against global warming, it has become increasingly critical for organizations to measure and verify their greenhouse gas and water consumption impacts and to base their targets on concrete data. In this context, Regnum Hotels has completed carbon and water footprint measurement/verification studies in order to establish our carbon emission limits and reduction targets.

In collaboration with Akdeniz University, Department of Environmental Engineering, and Noventech Environmental Technologies, our greenhouse gas inventory was calculated in accordance with TS EN ISO 14064-1:2018 and verified by QSI.

On the water management side, our Water Footprint verification process was completed in 2024 and we obtained the ISO 14046 certificate. We are converting this verified baseline into concrete actions through our Net Zero Water 2030 roadmap: as of 2025, we aim to commission a reverse osmosis (RO) system and increase alternative water source usage; and in the 2027–2030 period, we aim to strengthen water efficiency and recovery practices, progressing toward targets of 50% water savings and 100% water recovery.

Building on our verification infrastructure, we now monitor and report our environmental performance regularly through digital systems: with our Environmental Performance Dashboard, our energy, water, waste, and carbon emissions are continuously reported in real time.

Our goal is to develop reduction projects based on verified data to decrease carbon emissions and accelerate our transformation journey toward carbon neutrality in line with our Net Zero Carbon 2030 vision.
